Overview -> Hardware Initiation -> Video Card
- Definition: This
is “eye”
of the computer. Working with the external display i.e. the monitor,
it gives you a graphical display either of text or pixilated. You
can have either a card that’s integrated into the motherboard or an
add-on card that is exchangeable. Video cards are becoming small
computers meant only to do graphic rendering and the like, but capable
of much more.
- Generally Encountered Problems
with a Video Card:
- Overheating. Mainly
on add-on cards
that have a fan and cooling system. This can lead to system lock ups
and general error messages.
- Driver Issues.
Drivers are
software made by the manufacturers for that product to properly
interact with your computer.
- Bad or unseated video card.
Can
possibly leave the computer unbootable or prone to random errors.
